Aurora is a pig-nosed turtle that has crossed in five months the Atlantic Ocean travelling form Canarias to the Caribbean, covering a distance of 6,172 kilometers. This is the first time the transoceanic migration of this reptile marked in the Canarias’ archipelago is followed.

The film production ‘Oceans’ is a journey that explores the life of the majestic, and rare in occasion, creatures of the deep ocean. Its spectacular images, obtained from the new techniques of submarine shooting, compose an unprecedented experience for the audience about what happens under the water on our own coast. The film, which took twelve years of work, is the great commitment of Disney for this spring after the success in 2009 of the documentary film ‘Earth’. The film world’s premiere will be on April 23rd, coinciding with the International Earth Day. CANARIAS has stood out, once more, both in the MITT show in Moscow and in the ITB show in Berlin, which are, probably, the most important travel exhibitions held in the world. We have obtained formal commitments for the Russian and German tourists to continue visiting us, at least with the same intensity and devotion that they had until some years ago, when nobody talked about economic crisis. But if something has to be highlighted from those shows is the need to get our act together.
Challenging Japanese whaling program 07/02/2010
Yesterday, there was a collision between the anti-whaling ship the Bob Barker and a Japanese harpoon ship collided Saturday in the icy waters off Antarctica -- Another major clash between conservationists and the Japanese whaling fleet.

What pilot whales eat? 31/01/2010
If you've been in one of our tours, you probably listenned our guides talking about the type of whales we see on the tours and what they eat.
The type of whale we generally see are short-finned pilot whales. They eat giant squids that live (only) at hundreds of meters under the sea surface.
